Ok , so Michael Jackson is dead and Allah yer7amah ( as far as we know he is a muslim ). I’ve noticed that the younger generation who were born in 1988 and younger do not really understand how big MJ was on the planet. Most of the older generation loved and adored him when we were kids.
You see , MJ wasn’t a ” Habbah ” for 1 or 2 years like Justin Timberlake or 50 Cent . He stayed with us for years during all the 90s. if MJ didn’t exist , then probably most of the artists now wouldn’t reach what they’ve reached now. He was bigger than Elvis + John Lennon combined.
MJ’s name was one of the most known names on the planet. People in rural areas would recognize MJ’s name and picture but not recognize the US President or their own president. He was an global phenomenon. He had a special charisma on people that no other artist had before him. Just watch any of his concerts , you would see people from different races , nationalities , ages and different segments of fans who love other genres of music ( Rappers , Rockers , Pop , whatever .. ). They would all freakin’ cry seeing him perform his moves.
He was gonna start a late career come back and signed up to perform 50 concerts in the UK and within hours of opening the door for bookings it was all sold out. Though , he was in a bad financial shape due to his weird life style.
There were many rumors in late 90s and begining of this century about his child molestation charges , but honestly … people simply did not care. They thought he gave us so much that we forgive him for whatever he does lol. I have to mention that MJ’s art wasn’t based on sexiness as you know ” Sex Sells ” but he had true original music and dance moves and nothing near sexy. Unlike Britney , Justin , 50 Cent .. and all the other losers.
Michael Jackson will always be remembered by me and someday I’ll mention to my kids when they grow up how me as a child used to listen to MJ , wear one glove sometimes thinking I’m cool , or do the moon-walk infront of my classmates , or terribly imitating his moves , exchange MJ concerts on VHS tapes with my cousins and friends , playing his SEGA arcade game.
